Star problem: ERSO offered RANEPA students a procurement case

Young people will be able to take part in the actual supply of transformer components.
An introductory meeting was held at the Moscow Electrozavod with students of the Business Management program of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (RANEPA). Electrotechnical holding ERSO has prepared a business case for young people to organize the purchase of a component used for the production of transformer equipment. According to the terms of the project, participants need to work out the terms of reference, collect a pool of suppliers, consider references, prepare documents for procurement and delivery. The task is complicated by the fact that students must consider manufacturers not only in the domestic market, but also work out options for supply from India, China, Turkey and other countries.
As Deputy General Director for Procurement of PK HK Elektrozavod JSC (part of the ERSO holding) Sergey Dumov noted, a procurement specialist must be able to multitask, be attentive and scrupulous, take into account such characteristics as quality, timing, cost , and most importantly, quickly adapt to a dynamic market.
“Our job is constant monitoring of the best solutions for the company,” said Sergey Dumov. - Last year, the current, so to speak, geopolitical situation prepared a difficult “case” for us, to which we had to quickly adapt. Therefore, we decided to offer students a real situation that will allow them to improve their level of professional skills.”
Boris Pivovar, director of the educational program "Business Management" of the Faculty of Market Technologies of the IOM RANEPA, said that cases of several companies were considered for practical training of students, but the choice was made in favor of the ERSO task.
“First of all, we chose ERSO, as the solution is related to the real production cycle,” said Boris Pivovar. - Our guys will be able to work out not only procurement processes, but also logistics, get acquainted with the details of preparing documents, consider different routes and details of transportation. Secondly, this is not only an analytical, but also quite a creative process. There can be no single right or wrong answer.”
The launch of the case took place on the territory of the Moscow Electrozavod. The children were told not only about their task, but also about the products manufactured by ERSO, they had a tour of the production workshops. The participants saw the "heart" of the transformer with their own eyes and even touched the parts that, according to the terms of the project, they need to deliver to the plant.
“It is very important when such large companies enter universities,” Egor Brezhnev, a first-year student of the Business Management program at the IOM RANEPA, shared his impressions. - This opens up great opportunities for us. And, of course, it is very interesting to visit such an enterprise. I don't know much about production yet, but the tour was very exciting. This is the first time we have received such a serious task. This is an opportunity to prove yourself in a real business, to understand whether this profession suits you, whether you can do it. Learn how to work with documents, learn all the subtleties of processes. I think it's very helpful."
