ERSO successfully tested a shunt reactor for Rosenergoatom

At the Moscow site of the ERSO holding, the high-efficiency shunt reactor ROMBS-110000/750 (shunt single-phase armored oil reactor) for the Smolensk NPP was successfully tested in the presence of representatives of the concern.

The single-phase shunt oil reactor manufactured by the ERSO holding is designed to compensate for the reactive power of a 750 kV power transmission line in order to limit operating voltage fluctuations and switching overvoltages. This type of reactor is connected directly to the power transmission line, which makes it possible to increase the throughput and reduce electricity losses during its transformation, and improve the quality of electricity supplied to the consumer.

Smolensk NPP is the city-forming enterprise of the region, the largest in the region's fuel and energy balance. The station annually generates an average of 20 billion kWh of electricity, which is more than 75% of the total amount of electricity generated by the energy enterprises of the Smolensk region.

At the moment, a similar reactor for the needs of the Kursk NPP is being prepared for acceptance tests. Kursk NPP is one of the top four nuclear power plants of the country equal in capacity and is the most important node of the Unified Energy System of Russia. The main consumer is the Center energy system, which covers 19 regions of the Central Federal District of Russia.
