On 27 March 2026, the Russian Government included the construction of new power grid facilities in the Comprehensive Plan for the Modernisation and Expansion of the Main Grid in Kuban and Crimea. The objective is to enable the connection of energy storage systems (ESS) to energy systems in Kuban and Crimea. The completion of the pilot ESS project is scheduled in 2027, with voltage delivery set to begin as early as this year.
