Transformers of ERSO Holding will ensure reliable power supply in two districts of St. Petersburg

Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg and Andrey Ryumin, Head of the Rosseti Group, launched the new 220 kV Pargolovo substation after widescale modernization.

“Almost during 50 years the old substation actually served as the main element of the electricity supply system for the northern part of St. Petersburg. Due to the active development of this part of the city, it was decided to carry out its complete reconstruction. In fact, it was rebuilt during a widescale modernization. Now it is an ultramodern substation, everything is automated here and the participation of people is practically not required. The capacity of the installed equipment has almost tripled”, noted Alexander Beglov.

The reconstruction of the substation should improve the reliability of power supply in the Vyborgsky and Primorsky districts of St. Petersburg, where more than 1.2 million people live.

According to Andrey Ryumin, the Pargolovo substation is a mainline facility and its reconstruction affects the stability of the entire energy system. The project will also provide power for new buildings in the Pargolovo and Shuvalovo microdistrict, as well as increase the reliability of electricity supply to the largest in the region logistics park Osinovaya Roscha.

Transformers with a total capacity of 153 MVA are installed on the territory of the substation, three of which are manufactured by specialists of the ERSO holding.

“We are very pleased to be a part of such a large and significant project. The supply of ERSO equipment to the Pargolovo substation is proof that our competencies and knowledge are in demand by one of the largest electric grid holdings in the world. I want to say a big thank to the ERSO team for the high-quality work performed and also to thank Rosseti for their vested confidence!”, commented Konstantin Bochkarev, Vice President for Commerce of JSC ERSO HOLDING.
