“Grown out of sports”: ERSO summed up the results of the Shagai #ZaLes campaign

The employees of the holding walked several million meters to help restore the "lungs" of the planet.
On April 29, the corporate charity event of Sistema Group companies Shagai #ZaLes ended. More than 2,400 employees of the Group companies took part in it: AFK Sistema, MTS, MEDSI, Segezha Group, Agroholding Step, OZON, Binnopharm Group, Etalon Group, Sitronics Group, Concept Group, Vologda Textile Plant, Cosmos Hotel Group, BESK, ERSO holding, Gzhel Management Company, Sistema Charity Fund, etc.
Each participant had to complete a certain number of steps within a month. For 100 thousand steps, the organizer of the action, the Sistema Charitable Foundation, allocated 100 rubles for planting trees as part of the Southern Forest Belt of Russia project. For 300 or more thousand steps, the amount increased to three hundred rubles. With the help of a pedometer, it was necessary to fix the result and upload it to a special platform.
38 ERSO employees took part in the action. Ilnur Kiekbaev, process engineer of the Ufa Transformer Plant, walked the maximum number of steps - more than 872 thousand. Another impressive figure was achieved by Artem Borodin, chief specialist of the ERSO sales department. His result was more than 518 thousand.
“In order to achieve this result, I completely abandoned buses,” says Borodin. - The only public transport that I used was the subway, and only to and from work. I almost never drove my car, I used it only in case of emergency. After work, I either walked on the treadmill or just walked down the street.”
“I went to work and from work only on foot,” Kiekbaev shares his impressions. - In this way, about 10-11 thousand steps came out. In the evening I had running training - plus 18-19 kilometers. Weekends also dedicated to training. I liked the Shagai #ZaLes action: it's nice that I did a good deed, and it's good for the body."
In total, employees of Sistema Group companies walked 520.5 million steps during the campaign! The best results were shown by employees of MTS, BPGC, Etalon Group and Sitronics Group.
Thanks to the funds received, 3,000 pine trees were purchased, which volunteers planted in the Sosnovsky district of the Chelyabinsk region, at the site of a fire that occurred in 2018.
“We run a year-round cycle of sports and charity projects. In winter, the #NaLyzhne marathon in favor of the “Elevator without failure” project, in the summer the #ZaLes Run, and in the spring a warm-up - Walk #ZaLes. Walking is the easiest, safest and most common sport. Not everyone skis, not everyone runs, but we all need to get somewhere every day - and we go. We asked employees of the Group companies to walk about 7,000 steps every day, 1.5 times more than the average person with a sedentary lifestyle. Easy to practice and enough to become healthier and more active. As a result, the participants went around the globe 10 times in total! In the Omsk and Rostov regions, 7,250 seedlings are already growing, planted as a result of two corporate Races #ZaLes - now the number of trees “grown out of sport” has exceeded 10,000,” commented Alexander Torovtsev, curator of sports projects at the Sistema Charitable Foundation.
