ERSO TRANSFORMER SOLUTIONS Becomes Skolkovo Resident

ERSO Transformer Solutions (part of the ERSO holding) has joined the Skolkovo Innovation Centre as a resident. This milestone marks a new chapter for the company – bringing together its R&D expertise and pursuing an ambitious vision to establish itself as Russia’s leading institute for transformer design and engineering.

The resident status has been assigned following an expert evaluation of the company’s innovative capabilities. The key project presented at Skolkovo is Controlled Shunt Reactors with On-Load Tap Changers (OLTCs). This equipment is critical when it comes to enhancing power system efficiency and reliability, notably when incorporating renewables and optimizing voltage across Russia’s Unified Energy System.

Being part of the Skolkovo ecosystem offers more than just status – it serves as a powerful accelerator for the company’s R&D activities.

“We have been steadily growing our R&D capabilities. Becoming a resident lets us bring together all the engineering know-how we’ve built up, secure extra R&D resources, and take things to a whole new level. Our strategic goal is to establish ourselves as Russia’s national institute for transformer design and engineering, an expertise centre in controlled reactors and innovative transformer solutions,” said Filipp Ladoshin, General Director of ERSO Transformer Solutions.

The company places a high priority on growing its in-house R&D capabilities. As a Skolkovo resident, ERSO Transformer Solutions will benefit from tax incentives, grant funding and an extensive network of technology partners. Controlled Shunt Reactors with OLTCs designed under the auspices of Skolkovo are intended for deployment across Rosseti and RusHydro sites, as well as at other major industrial facilities.
