2.2 billion rubles to be invested in the modernization of the Ufa Transformer Plant

Sergey Gurin, President of JSC ERSO HOLDING, reported on the performance results and future development prospects of the Ufa Transformer Plant at a weekly operational meeting held via videoconference by Radiy Khabirov, Head of Bashkortostan.

The head of the holding stated that over the past four years, the workforce has tripled, growing from 144 to 437 employees. The average salary at the plant has also increased threefold, reaching 124,000 rubles. Sergey Gurin highlighted the expanding delivery geography, with ERSO transformers being in demand both domestically and internationally, including Belarus and Georgia. In 2025, the Ufa Transformer Plant produced and shipped equipment with a total capacity of 3.5 GVA, valued at 5.8 billion rubles.

Speaking about development plans, Sergey Vladimirovich updated the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan on the ongoing infrastructure upgrade project launched in 2024. This includes acquisition of state-of-the-art production equipment to broaden the product lineup and building a new testing centre. Total investment in the project will top 2 billion rubles.

“The modernization is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. This will pave the way for manufacturing power transformers and reactors up to 750 kV,” Sergey Gurin shared. “That will make the Ufa Transformer Plant a leader in domestic energy industry in terms of technological capabilities, workforce and scientific potential.”

“A true flagship of power engineering is taking shape in the republic,” Radiy Khabirov stated. “We stand ready to extend further support to the plant.”

To conclude the meeting, Radiy Khabirov thanked the UTP staff for their efficient work and proposed convening an interdepartmental working group in the near future to discuss the plant’s further development plans.
